Bride

Our conversations started on Facebook, chatting occasionally in 2013, though he said he knew me before then. 😂 I met him for the first time in church in 2014. He asked for my phone number when I was about to leave for Poland that same year but I didn't give him till a few weeks/months later. We started having numerous and frequent interactions about God, education, life, intentional living and everything in between. From Facebook Messenger to WhatsApp chats then we'd take breaks in between. He would reach out to check in on me and ask about my day/activities in a way that made me so comfortable and intentional. He was so interested, asking questions many guys didn't. I soon realised that we had similar values and this immediately made us great friends. He knew how to listen without judgement and hold space for concerns I had even when we disagreed. I was always inspired by his integrity, drive, intentionality, his care for his own folks, friends and his immediate community. He said I inspired him first and that was what drew him to me. ☺️ His wisdom, self-leadership, willingness to learn and attitude to everything he did cemented our friendship even more. We became even closer in 2016 and I'd never forget a statement he shared with me. Paraphrased, "I haven't been a fan of clichés but if a best friend is someone who brings out the best in you then you, Deborah, are my best friend". Aww 🥹 At this point, I already knew he was "the one". As I grew more in purpose, I waited on God for the next step and so many times, he brought up the subject of praying for my marriage because I sensed strongly it was time. I started to get leadings that he was my husband by December 2016 even before he made his intentions known. It was later I knew that he'd been eyeing me since 2014 (I stan a focused and committed man!🫡) By April 2017, I said yes to what would be the best decision I made that year. 🫶🏾(check out the picture) We've held on to every promise we received and the ones we made to each other despite our differences and the challenges we've faced.😁😂 The most beautiful part is it's gotten better, we've grown and watched each other do the same. I look forward to spending the rest of my life with him, supporting and cheering him on. Let's do this, Temi!

I have known Deborah since our children's church days, but we never really talked until 2013, when we had our first chat on Facebook. We had our first real conversation in 2014 at a church program. A few months later, I asked for her phone number, and this babe did not give me o. Maybe because she was going to Poland that same year, she thought there was no point in sharing her number. She later shared her number with me, and we continued talking even after she moved to Poland. We had interactions about God, education, life, and intentional living. It quickly became evident that we shared similar values and a deep connection. Our friendship grew, and even though we were miles apart, she was still the closest person to me. By 2017, it was obvious that she was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with, fulfilling God’s purpose together. So, with a heart full of hope and excitement, I asked her to spend forever with me, and she said yes. It has been an amazing ride, full of laughter, learning, and love, and we have grown and watched each other grow. We have always held onto the promises made to each other. Watching her grow and being a part of her journey has been one of the greatest joys of my life. We have grown together in love, faith, and purpose, and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for us.
